Table
and Table Bed |
| |
The table is made of cost iron and of heavily
ribbed construcion for high machining speeds.
The table is supported by a large phosphorus bronze
guideways for taking vertical loads and stray
tilting movements. The table is supported on and
adequately proportioned bed made of cast iron
and of heavily ribbed construction. The table
drives its rotation from a variable speed AC spindle
motor throught a gearing. The speed of the table
is varible fro 5-100 rpm. |

 |
Column |
| |
An adequate proportioned column made of cast iron
has guideways at the front and at the side rear
to guide the cross rail effectively. The column
is mounted on a bed. |

Cross
Rail |
| |
The cross rail, made of high grade cast iron,
traverses vertically on the columns for providing
the turning height for work piece. The cross rail
is clamped at the desired position by manual clamps.
The cross rail is driven by a motor through gearing
and lead screws. |

Tool
Head |
| |
The cross rail carries a saddle on its front guideways,
which provides the horizontal (X axis) feed motion.
The cross rail guideways are hardened and ground.
The saddle carries enclosed a square ram. The
guiding surfaces of the ram, made of steel, are
hardened and ground, Turcite-B lining is employed
for the saddle and ram sliding surfaces for superior
frictional characteristics. The horizontal feed
motion (X axis) are drived from AC servomotors
direct coupled with bal screws to the ram. The
tool change for various operation is manual. |

Lubrication |
| |
The table bearing and the gears of the main drive
transmission are lubricated by continuous circulation
lubricaion from a separate pump on the power pack.
Automatic intermittent lubricaiton is provided
for cross rail and ram guide ways as also for
the bal screw nut. |
